If you’re planning a wedding you’re probably tired of making decisions. Sorry to add to the list, but there’s one more decision you need to make that you may not have considered, and it’s an important one.
If you’re hiring an Austin wedding limousine for the ceremony you’ve got to decide who all makes the passenger list and when it’s appropriate for them to ride along.
Wedding Party Guests To Consider
Unless you’re a Kardashian you probably won’t be shuttling all your guests around in limos. Of course everyone would like a seat in the stretch, but that’s just not feasible. You’re going to have to narrow it down to the most important party guests.
- Both sets of parents
- Bridesmaids and Groomsmen
- Photographer / Videographer
- Wedding Planner
Keep in mind that some people may get their feelings hurt if you can’t make room for them in the limo. This is especially true for significant others of the groomsmen and bridesmaids. Depending on the size of your wedding party you may max out your seating so significant others need to plan ahead.
When Others Should Ride Along
If You’re Only Hiring One Limo
Parents – Parents see their children through just about every big step in life. When the bride is making her way to the ceremony having her parents there by her side for support is one of those moments.
Grandparents – If the parents are planning on riding with the bride to the ceremony you may want to make room for the grandparents as well.
Maid of Honor – The maid of honor is another person a bride may want to take with her when she makes her way to the ceremony. The maid of honor is the right-hand gal in charge of making sure the bride has everything she needs, including moral support, before she walks down the aisle.
Photographer / Videographer – The limo rides are part of the big event being captured by your photographer and/or videographer. The seclusion and intimacy of the limo can make for some very memorable moments. If you want them to catch every single moment documentary-style bring them along for the ride wherever you go.
Wedding Planner – Like the maid of honor, the wedding planner is charged with the task of making sure everything goes off without a hitch. Brides will often get very close with their planner throughout the process of putting the wedding together. The planner will probably already be at the location before the ceremony begins, but some brides may want to have them there to walk them through how everything is going before they walk down the aisle.
If You’re Hiring Two or More Limos
Parents and Grandparents – Considering that the parents are likely helping to pay for the wedding, if you’re hiring multiple limos one should be dedicated for the parents and grandparents, taking them wherever they need to go during the big day.
Bridesmaids and Groomsmen – On the ride to the ceremony the guys may want to escort the groom. It may also make since to have all the wedding party members ride to the reception together. If you are taking pictures at another location between the ceremony and reception shuttling the wedding party together will ensure everyone makes it there in a timely fashion.
Photographer / Videographer – If you’ve got room for one more in the wedding party limo, letting your photographer or videographer tag along can make for some fun photos to add to your wedding book.
Wedding Planner – The planner needs to get where they need to go on top of a million different other things. They’ll be calling, texting, writing, etc. so having a chauffeur to get them from one location to the next can help the planner ensure things go smoothly.
There are a million different ways to do a wedding, and no two couples are alike. The suggestions above are there to give you guidance, not a seating chart. Consider it an early wedding present from Royal Executive that can help to relieve some of the decision-making stress.
